What are back links and how to get these indexed?

By Becky Anderson

A back-link is a link on an external web site that points back to your website. A back link also counts as a vote. This means that the more back links that are pointing back to your own internet site the more popular the internet site is in the eyes of the search engines. The search engines will rank your website higher on the search pages.

a back-link has insignificant value at all if search sites do not know that much about the back links. You can keep on building back links, but finally you will have to tell the search engines about this. The search websites have to be told about the back links, so that they can count this as a vote of confidence for the internet site. If they don't know about these back links, then they don't have any value.

What you have got to do is, tell Google about the page that has this back link on it. We've got to help Google find these pages with the back links on it. Google robots will then crawl these pages; they'll see the back links and add these to their database.

Many people think that Google knows everything. But that is some distance from the truth. They are big, and they process uncountable billions of internet sites on a daily basis. It's a 24/7 process. If you add pages to your sites on a regular basis, then they could be missed, regardless of if you use sitemaps. Sitemaps only record the webpages, but they don't tell the search engines about it.

There are numerous straightforward methods to index these pages. There are lots of preferred bookmarking sites, which are regularly crawled by Google automatic bots during the day. If you bookmark a page on these book-marking websites, Google will know about your own page also. It is also possible to add a signature to a forum profile for a while. Forums are also visited frequently by Google automatic robots. So this is another ways to index a page with back links.

You have got to understand that you're letting the search sites know about the page that has got a back link on it. You aren't telling anything about the backlink itself. Google will find the back-links when the Google bot crawls the page. Google bot will record the links and the content of the site.

There are numerous alternative ways to index backlinks. But the previously mentioned strategies can be employed by an individual that maintains a small website. If you have lots of back links that have to be indexed then you can use a pro back linking service. There are many internet sites specialised in indexing hundreds of thousands of backlinks on a day-to-day basis.
