The Bounce Rate for Your Blog - Managing it for Success

By Amparo Dillon

Launching a blog these days is not at all difficult as you do have the tools and platforms to help you; however, when you're actually running the blog, things can get difficult. It is definitely a red flare when you see people are leaving your blog almost as fast as they arrive. If that happens to you, then you have an unacceptably high bounce rate, and that will sink any site. Effectively reducing your bounce rate to very low numbers is possible, and to that end you have to read this article.

Related posts on blogs are just links to other posts on your blog that are related to the one people just read. The net effect here is easy to figure out, and people spend more time on your blog. The plugin for this makes it all super simple, and the rewards to your blog are numerous. Since it only takes half a minute to install this plugin, we have to say this is a fast and convenient method to use.

Sometimes you may want to give your readers a free ebook to download, and if so then do it all from your own host. There can be all kinds of problems when you begin using third party sites, etc. This may not go too well with your readers and they may hit the exit button. We do not know why you would want to put your downloads on Amazon because your hosting is good enough. Your readers will appreciate it when you make life easier, faster, and simpler for them.

Do let your readers have the ability to comment and interact which is to say enable comments. People that usually visit and read blogs look forward to comment and send in their feedback about the published posts. The ability to leave a comment is such an important thing to have that we cannot imagine why you would want to remove it. Blogs that are hugely popular all allow their visitors to leave comments. It helps you build a relationship with your readers and get them to spend more time on your blog.

The concepts and principles of making your blog sticky so the bounce rate is acceptable are readily available for you to learn. You can do this no matter what you are working with or if you are in business or not. Employ visitor tracking on your blog because otherwise you have no idea how pages are performing. Once you start getting things right, then do not rest on your laurels and keep on hitting it hard.
