Wrinkle Reduction Information

By Paul Hanson

Many want to rid themselves of unsightly wrinkles. Maybe there are a few smile lines or you have more wrinkles than you care to think about. Wrinkle reduction is promising with several diverse methods. Whether it is a cream or a cosmetic procedure you have a few choices to choose from.

Creams for wrinkle reduction are available on the market. There are prescription and over the counter type of creams. Depending on the form of wrinkles there are creams for fine lines around your eyes, smile lines or frown lines. These can be bothersome to some who would rather get rid of them. The creams can range in price and depending on what you want to spend can be quite costly. There are creams you can use daily and others that may require treatments once or twice a week.

There are also laser treatments that may be performed in your doctor's office. These can be costly depending on what treatment is needed. Some people do not like these as they can be painful in the recovery process. You could also try facial treatments such as dermabrasion or deep peels.

Having Botox injected into wrinkles in their faces is another option. This is where the doctor will inject this under the skin. This helps to plump the wrinkles back out but can also cause bruising and pain. Though you have these treatments done be informed that your wrinkles can and will come back.

A major treatment option is a face lift. These are done typically when people are dealing with skin fold wrinkles. These develop due to sagging cheeks. Because they are due to sagging skin, tightening the skin is the only way to fix them. This is a more invasive procedure and you will have a longer recovery time. Depending on how invasive or how deep your wrinkles are you may pick a less invasive technique. It is best to talk with your doctor about your options so that you are informed on what is best for your situation. These are usually just cosmetic procedures and have no medically necessity. Talk with your doctor and decide what method is best for you.
