Pinterest & The Interest Of A Social Media Marketing Coach

By Rob Sutter

When it comes to the fastest growing social media outlets in recent memory, I would like to think that Pinterest more than holds its own. While it may not be nearly on the same level of Facebook or Twitter in terms of universal appeal, it is clear that it has grown leaps and bounds. I believe that this is tremendous, especially when you think about the number of sites that struggle with gaining visibility. Is it possible that a social media marketing coach can come into effect to make utilization more effective?

First of all, you have to think about just how much Pinterest has grown ever since its inception more than three years ago. One would think that the site would have grown substantially since that point, making it a rival to others in terms of networking. However, it wasn't until January of 2012 that the site has managed to double its user base. The fact that said user base is comprised of 80% women goes to show just how much appeal there is to this particular site.

How can Pinterest become utilized for the sake of business, you are probably wondering? After all, isn't pinning various graphics the gist of the website, making it something of a leisurely platform as opposed to anything else? However, you have to take into account that engagement can be had as long as there is a fan base to be seen in another network. Theoretically, you could bring over your Facebook and Twitter fans to Pinterest, therefore expanding the brand that you have and are looking to expand.

Once the fans are gained, though, what can be done in order to further interaction with them? Well, a company has to be able to utilize Pinterest in such a way that the graphics which are pinned will be pleasing to the eye. A social media marketing coach understands the importance behind visual engagement and how most people are more likely to focus on graphics as opposed to text. However, do not forget to post comments and replies, both of which are vital in the eyes of authorities like S-M-M-C.

Pinterest does not seem like the kind of website businesses would flock to, at least not on the surface. Upon further inspection, though, one can see that it can be utilized for such purposes as long as the right actions are put into effect. There's also the idea of a user base, of which Pinterest has a strong type. You want to be able to pin a variety of images and while the common user on the site may be more inclined to look up recipes, for example, a social media marketing coach sees other purposes.
