The Fall Protection Harness: Prevent Your Body Hitting To The Floor

By Gracie Lorretena

Falling incident has the opportunity to happen in the work environment area. It is especially in the developing business. To prevent the victim of the falling experience, it is advisable for you to have the personal fall safety.

You may get the safety from the falling incident from the fall protection harnesses. These devices are the series of the nylon straps and buckles which are located in the strategic area of the body. They are positioned around the legs and thighs, shoulders, back and chest with the large D shaped ring on the back.

The ring is out of the way for the personnel but still they happen to be connected to the protection line. During the course of the job like the telephone pole fixing a downed power line or the tree cutting off some dead branches, this device is the only thing which stands between the staff and the ground under them.

The fall safety harnesses will help you prevent hitting the ground. When choosing the device, you cannot just buy any unit. You need to purchase the device which is approved by the OSHA or the Occupational Safety and Healthy Agency. This organization has declared the strict rules for the needs of the fall safety harness which is used to operate 4 or 5 feet higher off the ground.

The element which you need to consider when buying the fall protection harness is that the unit should be cozy to match the body and it also has the ability to hold the weight without any failure. These functions will make the harness safe to use. You should pay attention not only to the harness, but also to the safety line and the anchor where it is connected to. This set will keep you to get wounded or even killed.

The fall protection harness involves three different parts. These are the harness, the anchor point, and the lanyard. The harness itself is divided into four classes that you can select according to the protection that is needed by the worker. The first class is the more basic harness. It is used when the employee only requires the small amount of support. This condition will not face any falling chance but it is still better to be safe.

The second class offers the chest units that will secure the full upper body. It is applied when the employee will be lowered to the building and removed in the low speed. The third class offers full safety harness including the straps for the upper and lower torso. It is useful to protect the risk falling from 25 feet or higher.

You will have the full setting including the belt that is similar with the class one but with more safety in the last class harness. This device provides more protection to work in the tough locations or where the staff is lowered into the dangerous surroundings.
