Stylish Trends for 2011

By James Shepherd

Style trends for 2011 have been confirmed and all the top fashion sources are saying it's going to be another vintage inspired year. There are a number of sunglasses styles to complement the in trends this year, taking inspiration from the same vintage years that clothes are.

With the catwalks and major fashion labels all pointing in the direction of the 70s, it's no surprise to see shops full of flares, retro colours, headscarves and oversized sunglasses. Exaggerated shapes and super-sized sunglasses have become the must buy for the summer of 2011 to achieve the retro look that Farrah Fawcett was famous for.

As the fashion industry works away at reviving the seventies trends, we have seen a number of amazing sunglasses come back on trend, however we're also burdened with the increasing number of animal prints now available. Leopard print is the most popular as expected; however other prints such as zebra, tiger and even giraffe are available and making their way into high street stores. When wearing animal print is essential not to combine it with animal print sunglasses, soft dark colours should be worn such as brown or black. However tortoise shell sunglasses are also making a comeback this year and with the right outfit could be worn with animal print.

The colours that are making a particular impact in 2011 will be white and orange, continuing the strong 70s theme throughout fashion. The bold colour has made its way into sunglasses too with many high end designers providing frames that are full of bright colours and strong frames.

To stay fashionable it is always important to understand what trends are going to be popular throughout the season. 2011 is going to be a bold and bright year thanks to a reinvention of some of the 70s best (and worst) fashion trends.
