One thing about you that can be leverage in your business is the simple fact that you are you - unique and different. Some people like going it alone and like to avoid depending on others. If you look in all of history, rarely were great accomplishments made by the efforts of one individual. Networking, like all else, can be a tremendous source of resources and utility, but you have to know what is best to do. And you can employ this approach called networking on a small scale and be able to accomplish more.

You have to understand the kinds of stories the media likes to present to the public. If you can describe your product or service in a way that tells a story of how it can really help people, you have a good possibility. You can have a special event that showcases your product or service, or simply talk about how it helps people on an ongoing basis. Create plenty of press releases that tell the world about your event or actions. Keep thinking of any reasons to tell the media about what your business is doing, and send out press releases regularly. You gain a whole new level of credibility when your business is discussed in the media.

What is great about marketing is you can design some approaches to be fast acting but others are not for the most part. Joint ventures can be very fun and profitable, even if most IM marketers will shy away from using them. Long terms methods are search marketing and social media campaigns. Which one you choose is up to you, and you should consider all of them and have an open mind. So you really should think in terms of using both approaches in your web business.

You need to realize that Twitter is not about how many subscribers that you have more followers, but how many people actually want to be there. It is very difficult, impossible, to build any kind of relationship with 20,000 people or even much less than that. But you really can get to know people, and in time they will do things for you like retweet your messages.
