Quick Tips In Finding Local Print Management Service Today

By Dale Trent

In order to conserve on manpower, training, equipment and employment expenses, companies are learning to outsource their printing needs to print management service providers. Many suppliers can be found online offering affordable packages, but probably only a handful can provide first-rate products and services. And since the process that involves ordering, payment and proofing is done online, you are not always assured of quality and might not always get the results you want.

Don't get carried away by a pretty website design. Just because they produced a couple of posters for Mc Donald's ten years ago doesn't mean that they're still the best place to go to ten years after. Before even ordering your printed materials, make sure that you go with a supplier whom you can depend on all throughout.

Professionalism. The supplier, or its representative, must look presentable and act professionally when dealing with clients. He must communicate in a friendly yet professional manner, not forgetting the terms of a client-supplier relationship. He must be able to listen to your needs, address your concerns in a non-threatening manner, and should be open to feedback and suggestions.

Competence. He must be able to understand the entire print process and explain it to you thoroughly. He must be familiar with the terms and technicalities of printing and know what the business is all about. He must know what they're doing. Only a supplier with well trained and competent staff can provide exemplary print management service.

Quality Oriented. A good print supplier is focused not only on providing superior printed output but top notch service as well. The company must have an established quality checking process that ensures commendable results. Surely, you don't want faded flyers or falsely hued logos on the first day of your campaign, do you?

Reliability. It would be better if you have a dedicated account manager to manage your requirements. You should have a point person who can address your concerns and liase with you whenever necessary. He must be someone who constantly communicates with you, providing you with updates on the status of your printed materials.

How does your supplier feel about the success of your campaign? Is he truly rooting for your success, or is that a glint in his eye that you see. A good supplier would be really worried about the possibility of not being able to deliver your requirements on time, and would be sensitive to meeting your expectations.

Sensitivity To Deadlines. Suppliers should understand that you are hiring them because you don't have the time to attend to your company's printing needs. When a supplier's representative contacts you to provide updates on your order, it must be on the promised date. The proofing, production, and delivery of the final output must be on the agreed deadline. You get what you want when you want it.

Reasonable Pricing. Spending too much on your print requirements is not worth it if you can get the same top quality service and output with someone else at a more affordable cost. Equally reputable, reliable, but competitively priced services are available.

It's always a good idea to consider your options first before making a final decision. Choosing the right print management service provider entitles you to peace of mind and guaranteed satisfaction.
