Effective Methods To Subdue Bad Guys

By Richard A Slowman

When I was in college, I would spend my summer vacations working for a local bank as a night-shift security personnel. One day, we received reports that one more local bank had been broken into and the security guards cannot subdue the enemies.

The police suspected that the robbers were a part of an organized crime family but, because of the circumstances, they could not be interrogated. I then started to be keen on non-lethal weapons as well as started out looking for the best keychain pepper spray to bring.

Pepper spray is a non-lethal self-defense weapon which could incapacitate an opponent. It does this by causing a painful burning experience in the skin and the eyes. The effect is just temporary, lasting up to 45 minutes, and causes no permanent harm.

Furthermore, strong pepper sprays will cause puffiness to the mucous membranes, resulting in coughing and choking, and making it tough to breathe. These will further make the eyes to tear a lot and swell shut.

The first products that I checked out were big, bulky canisters of defense sprays made for law enforcement agencies. Instead, I set my sights on a small pepper spray that was easy to bring but strong enough to handle any kind of thug.

After many weeks of looking, I got myself a 4 oz. Pepper Shot pepper spray stream. It was developed with security guards in mind. My purchase came with a leatherette holster with belt clip that will allow me to carry it easily.

This mini pepper spray has more than enough spray for 22 one-second shots and has an effective range of around 15 to 18 feet. It's available in two forms, a stream model that sprays in more or less a straight line, and also a fogger model that distributes spray in mist form.

Looking for the best keychain pepper spray for my job was a hard task but a worthwhile one. Thanks to my efforts, my supervisor has recommended that all the guards inside the building carry a defense spray and has arranged for training in non-lethal takedowns.
