Careers To Consider In The Medical Field

The medical field doesn't just offer many diverse facets of careers, but also job security and an income that you can't beat. People are always getting sick, so there will never be any problems for someone in the medical field finding a job.

The medical field offers many different opportunities for someone interested in the field. You can go into a mental health or family practice as a nurse, a tech, or a doctor. You also can set your own hours with this career which offers flex-time, part-time, and full-time. The best part is that you can opt to be your own boss, especially if you are in a private practice. The career opportunities never run dry!

In the mental health field, registered nurses are needed. Psychologists and Psychiatrists don't have difficulty finding a job. Social workers are in demand when it comes to mental hospitals and drug rehabilitation centers. You might find being a psych tech is good for you if you have a high school diploma and are ready to learn.

When it comes to pediatrics, the medical field is open. Careers for child-related medical needs are available.

Nurse practitioners are in high demand, as well as physician assistants. Many of those career paths make as much money as a family physician if they find the right place. Surgery Physician Assistants can make over $100,000 in some places and have a three or four day work week

Dermatology offers several possibilities, and many times have three day weekends. Dermatologists draw in a good salary and can work in a private practice or a group.

Food service is even an opportunity in the medical field. Medical personnel in the hospital rely on 24/7 food services in the hospital. Working with food within the medical industry offers job security. Along with job security, the pay is better than surrounding restaurants.

Look online at the Occupational Handbook, put out by the US Labor board. Be completely familiar with what you will have to do before you jump into a career.
