No coathanger? No Worries. Call A Chicago Locksmith

By Tim Melbourne

I hurriedly got out of the truck to return a defective kitchen light that had just been purchased a couple of hours ago from the store. We had a showing in a couple of hours and I wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. As I closed the truck door and reached for the keys to lock my truck, I noticed that I had the keys for the condo but not the truck. A quick look inside the truck and I knew that I was in trouble because the doors were locked.

My vehicle keys were still in the truck. Happily, I had a cellular telephone on me and I placed a phone call to my wife. However, she had end of month work to finish and couldn't get away from her job to get the spare key to me. I was on my own. Nevertheless I had a flash of genius and knew who to telephone. I went in to the shop, grabbed the telephone book, and hastily found a locksmith in Chicago.

Within 30 minutes the locksmith arrived and within another 10 minutes the truck door was unlocked. Now back in the day, I would have grabbed a coat hanger and tried to latch on to the door lock or what you might call door knob. Even though my truck is nearly 20 years old, the door knob was straight up and down, so there was nothing to grab. The locksmith also offered to make a replacement key right on the spot.

My vehicle isn't able to open with a keypad, which is a special skill of the Chicago locksmith. In a discussion with the locksmith I discovered that his main activity is road transportation vehicles as a car locksmith. But there are also home locksmiths and business locksmiths. A home locksmith could assist you getting into your home, or in opening a safety box. A business locksmith usually focuses on business offices and will make spare keys for desk drawers, filing cabinets, and put in new front door locks.

Many locksmiths main areas of concern are domestic locksmith roles while some take on anything that they are asked. This Chicago locksmith provided work whenever called and therefore was available on the phone all day and night, every week. He specialized in automobiles and therefore was excellent at opening my vehicle.

1994 Ford truck but he would be equally skilled at opening up a 2012 Mercedes SL550.
