Tips For Obtaining Insurance Without License Credentials

By Nicole Suggs

It could be a bit difficult to obtain insurance without license validity but it can be done. There are some reasons why some people do not have their driving abilities, and be able to do it legally. Here is a positive approach to getting the kind of coverage you need, without actually having the ability to drive on the roads.

It is important to know that even if you do not have your driving credentials, you can still have a vehicle insured in your name. Often times there are extenuating circumstances that prevent us from driving, but we need a vehicle in order to get around. Those who are disabled to the point of not being able to drive fall under this category.

Like with anything you are about to purchase, it is a good idea to do some research before you lock into a policy with a random company. Some companies will not insure someone if they are not licensed to drive, so ruling them out is always a smart idea. Most will want proof of whatever disability you have that prevents you from driving, so make sure you know what proof they are going to want to see.

You will need to find someone who will be willing to be recognized as the licensed driver on your policy. This will not be invasive to the person you have asked to do this for you. They will not be responsible to pay your bills nor will they be visible on the actual policy. The company that you decide on just needs this name for their records.

After you have asked a person to be listed as your driver, and you have chosen a company to work with, go ahead and make your appointment. Be sure to bring all the information you can about the person you have driving for you. They do not have to be at the appointment, but they do have to supply some personal information to the broker.

You will also have to sign a paper saying that you will not be driving the vehicle yourself. If you do drive it, and something happens, you will be held liable and the company that is insuring you will not pay your expenses. This also is a precaution for the company.

When you need to get insurance without license proof, there are a few things you can do to make it happen. Do as much research as you can to find out which companies will sell it to you, and what their requirements are. As long as you have a person who is willing to be your designated driver on your vehicle, you should have no problems getting what you need.
