Erecting an Effective Sales Copy

By Alana Vaughn

Every internet marketer needs to work on acquiring the skill of writing a good sales letter. You can create copy that converts as long as you can speak good English because writing effective copy isn't rocket science. The best way to convince your prospects to buy your product, which is your job as a copywriter, is to write in a conversational tone. The following tips will help you create copy that conveys your sales message without taking away the essence of your product.

First and foremost, know what product you are promoting. Know the product you are promoting, it's easier to get your sales message across. Every top copywriter first studies the product they are writing the copy for, and then start to write it. Being an expert in the product is important to create a convincing sales copy. Do you know the benefits of your product you are selling, then how can you sell it to prospective buyers?

The key to a successful sales copy, is to recognize these benefits and be well educated on your product and present them the right way. Bottom line is, find out what your product is about. In other words, what would make people want your product - what's in it for them? People who want to buy a Ferrari do so because of the Brand name rather than the technical wonders under the hood. Look at the attribute of the product you're selling; it's one-of-a-kind selling point. From beginning to end, this USP will call throughout your sales copy. When you know your product inside and out it is easy to know what to write about and convince your prospects.

Lastly, you should focus on keeping your copy positive. You want to talk about the problem you're addressing but you want to make your prospect feel better so they take action, not make them feel worse. So use the first part of your copy to briefly talk about the problem and how it needs to be taken care of, but the rest of your sales copy has to tell the prospect about the number of benefits they derive from your product, why they should buy from you, and how your aim is to give them the best possible solution.

As seen with the above tips, copywriting is a skill that can be broken into a few key elements that can be mastered with regular practice. You will start to see results over time, as you work on your copywriting skills.?
