Testing and Mobile Tools

By Jason L. Beanster

Computer systems once centered the subject of digital purchases. A person would use the internet to his computer; view a website; try to find an item; and purchase it digitally.

Persons will continue to get digital purchases, but these days also on cellphones and tablets. Cellphone and tablets present a new issue for online business: varying load times, purchasing troubles, and errors that can result in countless sales lost.

The tablet industry is predicted to rise 38% between now and 2015, rising from 67 million units to 248.6, according to Transparency Marketing Research. With such a massive growth expected to occur, websites need to be more trained in order to handle the influx of customers visiting an internet site on tablets or cell phones. Daily, numerous users of tablets and cell phones visit a website to make a purchase.

What generally occurs with websites not prepared for these mistakes on the purchasing screen. An individual may try to buy one item from his phone or tablet and various errors will occur, just like improper loading, item number problems, and drop down screen concerns. The user who originally wanted to purchase your item from a website may now look some where else. By using the proper performance testing services, you are able to be better prepared to prevent such smaller issues from developing. Having errors on a mobile device is bad, but experiencing slow load times is impossible to deal with. Imagine going onto a website from your tablet device and each page taking half a minute or more to load.

In an age where 4G/3G speeds and downstream rates of 6 Mbps for wireless Internet exist, there will be no excuse for slow load times. Sure, response times are not going to be as quick on a mobile phone as they will be on a home computer, but with full signal bars, no individual should wait one minute to load one webpage.

Run some tests to ensure that all mobile users get the best possible load time for your companys information. Use mobile application testing tools if necessary, because your customers will either forget about or not buy anything from your site or blog if it is too slow for their liking. Smart phones will continue to get smarter, while tablets will continue to supply wireless admission to the Internet using cell towers. As the mobile industry expands, companies should start preparing for the purchases individuals will make with their cellphones or lose out on thousands of dollars in potential sales.
