Scentsy Selling Tip - Without Traffic You Have Nothing

By Bronwen Oehlschlager

Yep. I'm doing another Scentsy Selling Tip. Scentsy reps are dear to my heart and I want them to succeed in building an empire of a business that most people see as a little hobby. You joined your business to earn some money, so let's talk about getting traffic to your site, shall we?

A good warmer goes a long way, and it's nice to have a few return orders from family and friends every couple of months - but is that enough to really build an empire? Nope. It's not and the reason is pretty clear, isn't it? You need volume.

Now I've established in past Scentsy Selling Tip articles that you will make more money from recruiting and teaching everyone to use a minimum amount of product (give it away as gifts, sell it, it doesn't matter just order enough and teach your team to duplicate you.) to keep the compensation plan open to you and your group. More money will change hands and the economy of everyone involved will improve - and this way it's not so heavily in favor of the company making money. This way it's a balance in favor of you and your independent Scentsy distributors.

This article is not really about that.

This one is about getting traffic to your sites. In order to accomplish this you'll need a good, old fashioned (haha) blog. Make sure you are fully hosted. (That sounds more complicated than it is. Just make sure it's yours and not a free blog. They generally only cost about $6 per month.) Your blog is your content and traffic hub. Without it your job is much harder. Who wants hard? Not me. Go the easy route this time. It's worth it. (How's that for a great Scentsy Selling Tip? *wink*)

I'm going to share this in concept right now because the training is all out there for you to learn the ins and outs and technicalities of what we are covering. The concept is the important thing to grasp first.

You can have a blog, or site floating out there in cyberspace but if you fail to create a web of links pointing back to that blog/site then you will only ever have a lonely island of a content hub and no traffic to speak of - traffic must be driven.

The easiest way to do that is with free search engine traffic.

Conceptually this Scentsy Selling Tip is to get the search engines to think you're popular. Get hundreds of other sites to post your link on their pages (that's what a backlink is) and the search engines will believe that you are popular enough to put on page 1.

It's not difficult to do. Your real challenge will be consistency. But if you will just overcome that challenge and push through with 5 pieces of value packed content every week then you will eventually get to the point where you can put your search term into the search engines and the page you pushed most recently will be somewhere on page 1. (I can't guarantee that, of course, but I've proven it again and again... and again and again.)

Come away from reading this article with new conviction. Will you be one of the few (very few) who will be consistent? The ones who are and stick it out are the ones who get thousands of visitors to their sites every single day and throughout the night while they are sleeping.

Think on that Scentsy Selling Tip for a bit.

I'll talk to you later!
