Long Island SEO: What Will Bendgate Do To Apple Devices?

By Robert Sutter

These days, consumers have a number of avenues they can take in order to air their grievances. They know when they are being given shoddy products, which means that they will not be shy about telling others what exactly has gone wrong with them. In the mobile world, this has been especially evident, in particular with the iPhone 6. It's a strong story and the uprising of the hashtag #BendGate is a note that Long Island SEO experts should focus on.

When the iPhone 6 released just recently, there was a tremendous amount of excitement surrounding the newcomer to the mobile front. However, concerns were raised once it was found out that the device could actually bend, which it shouldn't, in the pockets of customers. Not only is this unfortunate for consumers but it does not look good on Apple. A story like this shouldn't be associated with a company that, for so long, has been known for its mobile devices but it seems to be the case here.

The defect was made apparent and, as a result, Twitter became witness to the hashtag #BendGate. I believe that it is important to note - and an article on KTLA5 brought further attention to this - because of how nine different iPhone 6 devices were shown as being part of the defect in question. This isn't to take away from Apple's success, though, since more than 10 million of the mobile devices have been able to sell during their first weekend on store shelves. More than anything else, this article brought to light a problem with Apple's quality control for their new tech.

It's because of these hiccups in quality control that #BendGate was able to trend on Twitter. As stated earlier, the Internet is one of many platforms for consumers to voice their concerns on, which is a point that firms like fishbat can attest to. It's easy enough for reviews to be uncovered and the fact that there are several only helps an audience's collective voice become that much louder. However, I am sure that those in Long Island SEO will tell you that this may not have much of an impact in the long term.

No one can argue with the fact that Apple is one of the most popular companies for software and hardware alike. Anyone who has owned even the oldest of iPods will be able to say the same. Their products are always going to be popular with the masses, so a story like this may not sway people in the direction of steering clear of Apple products. With that said, the #BendGate hashtag has shown that the online world is able to further news in virtually no time at all.
