How To Become Successful At Article Marketing

By Ron Stucky

Even though the article marketing landscape has changed with Google's Farmer/Panda update, you can learn how to make it work better for you. In the years before the war on content farms began in earnest, there were essentially two approaches to article marketing. Some knew that by creating content that other sites wanted they could benefit from syndication, but most only churned out articles for the major directories in order to get them ranked as quickly as possible. At this point, however, you can't count on getting ranked if you write sloppy or poorly written articles.

Most of the articles you will find in the article directories are the same format. It is understandable to want to explain something to readers, but that tends to produce articles written in basically the same way. You do not see the compare and contrast format hardly at all, so that is just one thing you can write. You cannot be afraid to express yourself, and simply telling your audience why you feel the way you do about some aspect of a topic can be very interesting.

The very first place you want to look at is the headline, and try using the approach of giving numbers. For example, 5 Ways To Grow Larger and Better Tasting Tomatoes, will automatically tend to make people wonder what those five ways are. If the numbers in the headline strategy is good enough for magazines, then you know it is worthwhile. Those magazine copywriters are nicely rewarded for their efforts and expertise with headlines that convert. Try this in your articles or for any kind of content you produce such as blog posts.

No need to feel bad if you have writer's block, and we will cover something you can do to fix that. There are some excellent sites that sell physical goods that you can use to your advantage. Content ideas are all over the place at the very large ecommerce sites such as Amazon. Another less glamorous approach is simply looking at all your keyword phrases. The entire world is full of content, and it does not matter what your niche market is, you can find this information.

Anyone who has ever written and published anything on the net has had their content stolen. Many unscrupulous or just ignorant marketers mine the article directories for content they can grab. You may be able to turn this annoying situation into a benefit. When you find your content used without the link back to your site, contact the person who took it and offer them a deal. Don't be angry or threatening, but talk to them in a reasonable manner. Tell them that if they're willing to play by the rules and include a link to your site that you'll regularly send them any articles you write. The alternative is to simply remove the offending article from their site; otherwise, let them know you're prepared to file a DMCA notice that could get their site taken down. You can turn your article marketing into a powerful force for your business when you start acting like you are a professional. As with anything else, your results are heavily influenced by the way you think about article marketing. You'll get a lot further with article marketing, as well as everything else, when you commit yourself fully to taking whatever action is necessary. To get the most out of article marketing, you not only need to know the best strategies, you also have to put them into practice each day.
