As the World Looks More Chaotic, The Paranoid Hedge Their Bets Underground

By Mary Pat Sheahan

With no thanks to director Roland Emmerich, many societies are now gripped with the possibility that the end may be nigh. If recent events are more than just series of freak coincidences, this is no longer crazy talk. A devastating chain of earthquakes combined with the bloodshed paralyzing the Arab world driving up petrol prices, global politics plus nature's instability is making people nervous.

Not long ago Obama's National Security Staff carried out a research that redefined the official recommendation when one faces a doomsday event. The new study now suggests that when one encounters a disaster on a catastrophic scale, the most effective solution would be to seek shelter underground. The study also specifically discourages evacuation, classifying it as the least recommended form of countermeasure.

It is this reason that companies like Green Eye Technology have been reaping an unprecedented boost in sales in the recent years. According to CEO George Welhalf, the number of calls they've been getting have been growing by the minute, as more and more people are becoming overwhelmed by the onslaught of discouraging news and are desperate to know if there's anyway they can survive the worst case scenarios. Welhalf then emphasized that while his industry do not claim any gifts of supernatural foresight, their purpose is to let the average Joe gain more confidence for their own future.

In light of this situation, safety shelters designed and built by Green Eye have been selling like hot potatoes. These come in a variety of options customised to suit small families, or entire groups of people ranging in the thousands. Military-grade protection is offered through the use of materials such as fibreglass, at the same time there is also an emphasis to ensure that the shelters also come with a domestic familiarity, which is an often lacked feature in the average Cold War shelter. This is implemented so you can barely be unaware that you are actually living underground, while you try and make up for the lack of driving opportunities playing driving games, after you are done reading through all your car magazines

The main focus however, is that these shelters are constructed with the purpose to persevere not just most serious storms and quakes, but also other possible man-originated disasters. Radioactive fallout, electromagnetic pulse and germ warfare just to name a few. With an in-house air filtration, power generator, and a large storage facility for food and water, these shelters have the capacity to allow its occupants survive underground from weeks to years at a time.

With their businesses expanding beyond the average consumer, a company like Green Eye can also strike up lucrative deals with many governments. Governments often require emergency operations centers should their main administrative buildings become incapacitated, and secured facilities for their network servers and sensitive documents that are both particularly compromising when a disaster strikes.

So perhaps instead saving up for a new house, maybe you and your local community can be pooling in to invest in one of these military grade shelters. After all, there is no need to put yourself in a deeply regrettable state when end time comes.
