By Christina Zihui

Although The ultrabook Intel promotes has received a positive evaluation, but the price is generally higher than $ 1,000, so it is difficult to achieve the established goals.

Intel is making efforts to promote ultrabook. It plans to achieve a wide range of popularity in the next year. But the plan has encountered a major obstacle: the price.

The world's largest chip maker plans to use ultrabook to win 40% of the consumer notebook market. These products have ultra-thin design and instant start-up and all-day endurance. This product concept is to make the notebook closer to tablet PCs and smart phones, at least close to Apple's popular notebook MacBook Air.

Most of Intel's chips have not been used by popular mobile phones and tablet PCs, so the in the growing popularity of mobile devices, ultrabook project wants to use the company's dominance in the PC market to achieve a breakthrough. The challenge is that most ultrabook is priced higher than $ 1,000. Intel has said that unless the price declines or these products can not achieve the target of 40% market share.

The analysts (http://www.steel-structure-buildings.com/) of the industry said that if the cheapest ultrabook is $ 1,000, the market structure will not change and their goals are too ambitious."

The analysts of the industry said that Intel does not manufacture ultrabook, it only provides technical specifications for Acer, Lenovo and other partners and give manufacturing business to these companies to complete. The early introduction of ultrabook is similar to the MacBook Air. The thickness is usually less than 1 inch and weighs less than 3 pounds including the Acer Aspire S3, Lenovo Idea Pad U300 and Asus Zenbook.

Despite the evaluation results is positive, the three products are more than $ 900. The one with higher configuration even reached $ 1,500. According to the data, the number reached more than twice of the average price of PC.

Consumers have become accustomed to the regular laptop whose price is less than $ 500. As the world's largest PC maker, the starting price of Hewlett-Packard notebook is just $ 349. It should introduce some the technology to help lower the price.
