A perimeter light is a must have. This is used for marking areas for its Final Approach and Take Off. It will aid your pilot in knowing the right zone where he could be able to land particularly at night time and unpleasant weather. You are required to add more or less sixteen but since that area is small, you could place eight of it.

Have those that is necessary for touchdown. A person will place this on areas for Touchdown and Liftoff. You should place it a little close to each one unlike the one for approach and for takeoff. You would normally have this placed in the center part of FATO in the place that the helicopter is landing or taking off.

You can also have the one to direct landing. There are those who place it on their runway. The pilot could see that even from afar. They are designed in away that it can be seen even at night and even when the weather is unpleasant so safe landing is guaranteed.

There are also some floodlights needed. You could notice that these ones are hooded. It would help lighten up the landing place and would protect the pilot from glare. Be sure you have those to signal obstruction. It is used in marking obstructions around the FATO and TLOF. You could have the one that is pole mounted or ground mounted depending on what you prefer.

Get wind cones too. It could indicate wind direction. It is painted in bright colors that makes it more visible even if the weather is unpleasant. You can install that at the ground or even at roofs and walls.

Beacons serve a similar purpose as all other lighting. But, they are build for night operations. The light that it illuminates is really bright than the others which makes it much easy to pinpoint locations. Always remember to have a controller for your lighting system.
