Google has been trying to clean up the amount of spam in its database for a long time now.
If you are given a warning about unnatural looking links, the first thing you should do is download a link report from Google Webmaster Tools. Look for links from unrelated or suspicious looking sites, links from sites that are spammy, and links that all have the same anchor text. These are things that Google will see as un-natural. Try to get as many of those links removed as possible.
If you own the blog network that your unnatural links are on, or control the social media profiles, then you will be able to get most of the links removed quite quickly.
Recovering from an unnatural link warning is simply a matter of removing the links that Google does not like.
Some people do recover from this type of warning. The key is to find the links that Google does not like. These tend to be lots of spam links on other sites that are not really very high quality or related to your own site. You can find tools and even services that can help you try to get these links removed.
If you cannot remove all of the links that have been flagged as unnatural, then you can disavow those links. This means that the links will not be considered by Google's algorithm. You won't get any benefit from the links, but you won't get any penalties either. Once you have disavowed the bad links, you can submit a reconsideration request, and hopefully have your site reappear in a good position in the search results.
